Freecycle.org has a new feature…  “Freecycle Fun Fact”.  You can see the morphing facts on Freecycle’s home page 

I don’t know what the source is or how authoritative these “facts” are, but they are interesting and thought provoking.  Here are a few that have been mentioned.

• America throws away enough aluminum every three months to rebuild its entire commercial air fleet!
• Incinerating 10,000 tons of waste creates 1 job, land filling the same amount creates 6 jobs, recycling the same 10,000 tons creates 36 jobs.
• The energy saved from recycling one aluminum can will run your tv for 3 hours
